+150 lbs. Weighted Chin Up - Vertical pulling programming is going pretty damn good!
✅Lately I’ve been experimenting with doing the same type of programming for my pullups as I’m doing for my bench. That includes the sets and reps, the contraction type, the accomodating resistace, all of it. If I do banded speed bench press for 12x3 with 50% straight weight + 25% band tension, I’ll try to get as close as possible to the same thing with pull ups or chin ups. Along with eating a hell of a lot more, this has helped me put on some mostly good weight and quite a bit of strength in my pull ups and chin ups.
✅This chin up was done with a little bit of an lowering phase but I’m pretty positive that I don’t need that as the initial pull is the easy part and the finish is the tough area. While I used to struggle with the top part of the pull up before, a combination of better pull up programming, direct arm work and better cues have led to some damn good progress!

6x3 at 405 lbs. 3.75 Inch Deficit Stiff-Leg Deadlifts - The Poor Man’s Reverse Hyper - Build strength in the glutes, hamstrings and low back for sprints, jumps, throws and other strength oriented sports skills.
✅ Deads were feeling good today so I decided to try them out with a big deficit. Despite adding 2.25” to the defict I was using, they didn’t feel much harder effort wise but felt like they did a better job of recruiting the hamstrings and glutes. I have heard that these are called the poor man’s reverse hyper due to their strengthening the same areas that a reverse hyper does. While there’s really no exact substitute for a reverse hyper as it does more for a person’s body other than building strength (it also has higher low back and hamstring activation than these, supposedly), these are effective to build your hamstrings and hips and can still help you build strength and muscle in those areas. In short, they’re a beneficial assistance exercise that does a great job of building strength and size in your lower body through a huge range of motion for jumps, lifting, sprinting, throwing and other athletic pursuits.

Il y a 13 mois que je venais pour la 1ère fois tester le fitness @13etoilesfitness pour mon 1er entrainement sans mon attelle au genou.. Aujourd hui je suis revenue après 2 mois de pause sans musculation (je donnais beaucoup de cours et ça me faisait trop si je rajoutais mes entrainements de muscu en plus si tu veux savoir la raison) et toujours un plaisir de s'entrainer avec ces machines et matériel au top ..
Du coup un petit entraînement sans trop en faire non plus histoire de remettre la machine en route et remuscler ce bas du corps comme il faut

Having that motivation day in and day out is difficult. Eating right, going to the gym and working your tail off, showing up on a day that sucks. All of those things are hard, but if you’re disciplined you make it happen anyway. I promise you the results are worth it. Last week we posted about how it doesn’t matter if you have the best program known to man if you don’t show up and do it. That’s 100% true, but if you need help getting the best tools necessary, we will give you those tools, but the hard part. Showing up. That is all up to you.

Why you should be using bands in your training - 1.5” Deficit Conventional Speed Deadlifts vs. Bands - 6x3 at 315 lbs. on Bar + 240 lbs. of Band Tension (at top)
✅If you’re not using bands in your training, you could be missing out on potential gains that you could be making by implementing them. There are several reasons and ways that bands work to make you stronger.
1️⃣They improve your technique. Since they are always pulling the weight down, faster than gravity, it makes it harder for a person to “skip” a range of motion as can be done with straight weight (while not perfect, you can think in the instance of throwing something, all of the force is applied before the ball leaves the hand).
2️⃣The preferentially strengthen the end range of the movement you’re using them with which is important for many traditional sport athletes who spend most of their time at the end ranges of motion.
3️⃣They improve the acceleration throughout the lift. They allow you to pull as hard and fast as possible since you don’t need to worry about slowing it down at the top which improves your acceleration.
4️⃣They strengthen the tendons. Since tendons can produce a lot of reactive force, the faster you can load them (to a point) the faster and stronger they will react to that force and produce faster, stronger movements which also makes them stronger overtime due to higher loading.
5️⃣They are said to increase the firing rate of the motor neurons associated with the muscles used in the movement you’re doing. This likely happens due to the fact the band is always pulling the weight down, like added gravity and requires constant firing of the muscles to resist this, rather than relying on passive structures alone.

Event 3: Sandbag/Sled Medley AKA someone glued my sled to the ground as a joke
Weight: 170lb sandbag, 130lb sandbag, 300lb sled
As fast as you can before time expires (75secs)
And I didn’t complete the course because I swear someone thought it was April fools day and glued my sled to the floor
But for real, I struggled with this. And did not do well placing wise. But you live and learn. Moving on
