✴️I was thinking today... What is the thing that inspires me What is that in which I find Truth .
☀️And I got the answer: passionate people! People who love life and love what they do (whatever that is) and love to interact with other people and to share and love to learn and they embrace their nature and they have a sparkle in their eyes!! My husband is one of those people. A passionate, unique, curious, crazy man who I wholeheartedly adore!! 💖❤️ My friends are these people!! ☀️ ...all these thoughts I had while looking at the picture above from our trip to Lesvos island in April. I'm inside Theofilos' Tree Cave. Theofilos is a folk painter of modern Greek art. He was born in Lesvos island around 1870 and his passion was to paint Greek characters and Greek traditional folklife and history.
He earned himself a living any way he could, just for a piece of canvas or a white wall where he could paint his pictures. He painted many murals in villages for little payment, usually for a plate of food and a cup of wine and a supply of paint. Painting was his passion, in an era when painting didn't mean much. A true artist!
Whenever in Lesvos island, be sure to visit the Theophilos Museum in Mytilini. Don't forget to see the hollowed out tree Theophilos lived in at the spring of Karini on the road to Agiasos. Keep your eyes open and you may discover a Theophilos on the wall of some taverna in a remote village somewhere on Lesvos.

Kalaloch Beach is one of the most visited beaches in the Olympic National Park, with its wide sandy beaches, weathered driftwood, beautiful coastline trails and the famous Kalaloch Tree and Tree Cave. This remarkable and magical Sitka spruce tree will surely be the highlight of your visit! With it’s majestic beauty and it’s astonishing ability to survive despite it’s inhospitable surroundings you will understand why it was named the ‘Tree of Life’. While visiting you might even see some otters, sea lions or orcas from the shoreline. This is the ideal spot for whale watching or sunset gazing.
This tree is so beautiful and amazing. Thank you for sharing this place with us @lynseystraderphotography
