A year ago my first sprint race was there and the actual kickstart of swim bike run adventure, so its a special one.
Did the Olympic this time.

I still remember last year how much i was doubting to finish and how the course seemed to be endless also how i felt when i crossed that finish line. I got addicted since then 🏊♂️ 🚴♂️ 🏃♀️

Running on the road is as easy as 1-2-3. But running on the sand is a different story. 🌞🏃
It's never going to be an easy year, and the #ironman race next month will surely require the best of us in many ways.
But whatever race it is, we'll keep on pushing and helping each other in achieving one's goals. No competition, just purely enjoying and motivating each other towards success. 👌💨

Half Ironman, done and dusted
Did the 15 year old fat me ever think I would be able to do something this big No. There were a lot of stupid things I have done in this short life that I have lived but nothing really tops my first ever triathlon which ended up being the half Iron. It is funny because I have never even gone for a half marathon but somehow managed to finish this
The experience of doing something like this was crazy. I was the youngest person attempting to finish the half iron in a group of around 57 people. Since it was my first ever triathlon, I learnt all the small nitty gritties the hard way around. My cycle wasn't adjusted to my body (had borrowed someone's cycle) and also had clipless pedals which I pushed using my running shoes, I didn't have any tri gear nor did I have cycling shorts and did the whole event in my running clothes. I didn't find the energy gels I had trained with and lost control over my nutrition for more than half the cycling leg
After all that comes the real challenge and that was the mental struggle. In a cycle not adjusted to me, I had to cycle against very severe head winds and didn't have access to the drop bars. I was pedalling using a very small part of my shoe on the clipless pedal which over the 90k course caused severe pain on the underside of my foot. The new gels I tried taking weren't nearly as effective as the GU gels I was used to and I had a massive power low at the 50k mark. Because of the extra time and energy taken to finish the cycling, I was left with little power to run the half marathon. The running route didn't have any shade with a UV index of 8. There were a lot of moments where I had given up and knew that I wouldn't be able to finish the race. I had literally reached a point where my next goal was to just finish the km I was cycling and start the next one
My main reason and motivation for doing this goliath of an event is my belief in the @seek.discomfort movement and how the only way one can achieve something is by seeking discomfort. I kept reminding myself why I got into this and why I was actually there doing it which kept me going, one step at a time
It was all worth it.
I am proud of the focus I had during my workout today. 62 min bike and 20 min run right after.
Grief is different for everyone. For me, some of my better workouts have come when I don't think of my dad. I dedicate these sessions to him afterwards.

Swimming Workout 2: Tempo Training
Purpose: To enhance overall fitness and improve pacing skill
Having a feel for distance, speed, and effort (i.e., knowing how to pace yourself) is one of the keys to successful swimming workouts.
200 at 75% with 20 seconds rest
150 at 80% with 15 seconds rest
100 at 90% with 10 seconds rest
50 at 100% with 60 seconds rest
Repeat four times total
20 minutes swimming at 70%
15 minutes pulling at 80%
10 minutes pulling at 90%
5 minutes swimming at 100%
Rest only as long as necessary between efforts

On the coaching side, I get to chat with Bobby, @coach_bobbysmith on ways to get more people to "Cross the Finish Line with a Smile" with @rulonracing.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On the athlete side, I jump on @gozwift with some tough ass bike interval work from Coach Brandon @abmarshtx, eat, recovery, and then I head over to @soulfitsa with Jason for a strength session.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Getting to where I am as an athlete took time, hard work and dedication. Getting to where I am in my business took time, hard work and dedication as well.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There may be days or weeks that I am flying high on the business side, but then I may be feeling low as an athlete. Or vice versa.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today, I was "Drippin' in Sweat" as an athlete and "Drippin' in Finesse" as a business owner. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, I soak it all in!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Cherie has won the Ironman triathlon 16 TIMES! She holds 10 world titles and has set 8 course records. (And she did her first triathlon at the age of 48)!! She is an author, certified coach, motivational speaker and the Founder and Director of Exceeding Expectations-a non-profit program for at-risk youth in San Bernardino. The program is designed to encourage kids to move their lives in a positive direction using the sport of triathlon as a vehicle.

Bien commencé les coupes d'Afrique junior en Zimbabwe 🇿🇼avec une bonne 3 ème place. ✴une course très difficile a cause de l'altitude 2000m en plus les côtes sur le vélo en 16% et en course a pied
