Having friends over for drinks/dinner This is an easy pre-dinner snack to share with friends and so delicious if you like something crunchy and full of flavour....Crumbed Pan-fried Okra...you’ll need:
Fresh, young okra (I prefer the small ones for this recipe - keep the larger older ones for gumbo)
1/2 cup Asian Sesame Sauce
1/2 cup rice flour 1/2 cup soy milk
2 teaspoons light soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon adobo seasoning (I used @simplyorganicfoods but you can use any seasoning you like)
Seasoned panko breadcrumbs (season with salt, black pepper, some nutritional yeast and paprika)
Neutral oil for pan frying
Wash and dry the okra. Slice in half lengthwise. Set aside. Make the batter by whisking together the sesame sauce, rice flour, soy sauce, Adobo seasoning, soy milk and garlic powder. It should be quite thick but Dip the okra halves in the batter then coat with the seasoned breadcrumbs. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Make sure the oil covers the surface of the pan. Pan-fry the crumbed okra until golden and then drain on papertowel. They can be deep fried if you prefer. We’ve been having some more chill, rest days and have been giving Zion his much needed special time with each Josh and I and it has worked wonders with his moods and feelings. Travelling with kids is not for the faint hearted! But we are feeling so blessed to be here and giving absolutely everything we have to each moment. I also have a tent now.” I met Dave in April at the first Rebellion Week when he joined @xrscotland . Now he joined again and has moved sites with us.
He enthusiastically gives out stickers to the public, offers his tent to anyone who needs a space, takes countless stewarding shifts, never seems to sleep - always busy doing something.
He has given me tips how to stay warm on the street.
In short: Dave is amazing and says he will continue to join us.
I am glad he has found a community in this rebellion, this is what it is about too! I am worried about him in the time between rebellions - how he feels/lives when we are all gone. I am unsure how to help him/what he wants.. but if you see him in London, give him a squeeze. 💛

The most common question that vegans are asked is „How do you get enough protein”
The answer is: how can you NOT 🤷♀️
Personally I like adding protein powders to my oatmeals or nice creams because 1) they are yummy 😂🍫 and 2) they make it easier to get in my daily protein requirements since I am very active.
But are they necessary
NO but they are HELPFUL
