Get to know the two new meads:
Dream Weaver 🍊🍦 - A nostalgic blend of Orange Blossom Honey, oranges, vanilla, and cardamom that tastes deliciously similar to the classic summer treat, the Dreamsicle!
Cinnamon Tree 🌶🍯 - Meadmaker Andy has crafted a batch of our first-ever capsicumel, a metheglin made with chili peppers! This new mead is a blend of Alfalfa Honey with whole crushed cinnamon and red hot chilis.

At Taste Studio, I learned how to make this tasty cocktail, Sweet Tangria. Using frozen fruit to keep the cocktail chilled will not dilute the drink. For your next cocktail party, freeze some fruit for your drinks.

“In the beginning, all America was Virginia.” ~ William Byrd.
Want to relive the experience of America’s first permanent English colony Jamestown Settlement tells the story of 17th century Virginia, where Powhatan Indians, Europeans, and Africans converged and the seeds of a new nation were planted. These cultures all come to life through film, gallery exhibits, a recreated colonists’ Fort, the Powhatan Village, historical interpreters, and 3 of my personal favorites, the Susan Constant, Discovery, and Godspeed, all replicated ships of those which sailed from England to Virginia in 1607. .
While anytime is a good time for history in my book, 2019 is an exceptionally good time to visit Jamestown. 400 years ago some key historical events occurred here that continue to influence America today. What events you ask How about the First Representative Legislative Assembly in the New World; the Arrival of the First Recorded Africans to English North America; Recruitment of English Women in Significant Numbers; the First Official English Thanksgiving in North America; and the Entrepreneurial and Innovative Spirit of the Virginia Colony. This is where to truly commemorate 400 years of history, the good, the bad, and ugly of it all. .
I’ve visited Jamestown Settlement twice this year. The first to view “Tenacity”, a special exhibition focusing on women in Jamestown and early Virginia. So well done, for all ages, and will be around until January, 2020, so you have plenty of time to plan your trip. My second visit was early Spring. What made that visit special was the engagement I had with several of the costumed interpreters. All so friendly and informative. I love when you make multiple visits somewhere and come away with something new each time. You’ll find more info at www.historyisfun.org, and because my Yorktown story was so well received last week, I’ll be adding Jamestown Settlement photos to my story today. I hope you’ll check ‘em out. Thanks all, enjoy your day! .
