Some quarantine fashion for your afternoon.
It’s a cool 57° here in Michigan, so naturally we opened all the windows to get some fresh air in our apartment. My legs down really get cold, so this is what I needed up wearing for most of the day.
Are anyone else’s days FLYING by Time is a figment of my imagination now. I don’t set an alarm anymore. So I’m up til I get tired (which now is around 3am) and then let me body wake up. All of a sudden it’s 10am. THEN BY THE TIME I GET AROUND AND MAKE COFFE ITS SUDDENLY 2 IN THE AFTERNOON I’m so confused. My body is confused.
The only thing I’m certain of is that these slippers are comfy af
🌮Turkey Tacos with healthy Ranchero sauce!🌮One of our favorites! You’ll need ➖2lbs of ground turkey➖1 onion➖1 bell pepper➖shredded lettuce➖cilantro avocado @bolthousefarms ranch➖Taco Bell Mild sauce➖Tortillas➖option- cheese➖chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt pepper and (option) @hotcharlies chili lime dust. Warm a large skillet to medium high heat. Brown your ground turkey completely. Add in half tsp salt + pepper. Add 1/2 tsp @hotcharlies Chili lime dust. Add in 1tsp cumin, 1tsp garlic powder + 1 tsp chili powder. Cook for another few minutes and set meat aside. Add cheese if you choose! Add in chopped onion and pepper - cook down for 3-4 minutes (add 2 tbsp of water to help steam them quickly) set aside tortillas and lettuce. For the sauce use 2 tbsp of water + 2 tbsp of ranch + 2 tbsp of Taco Bell mild sauce!! That’s it 🙌🏼

I mean, it’s a global pandemic right now, so your best is bound to look a bit different than normal!
Adam & I went on a 4-mile hike today and my #35weekspregnant body was seriously feeling the altitude and hills. It was the first time I’d hiked since being pregnant and, phew, was it a whole different experience! I was breathing so hard and was moving so much more slowly than usual. And it’s not fair to expect my body to function like it did 9 months ago on a hike.
They used to recommend pregnant women not get their heart rates above 140 bpm in exercise, but the more widespread recommendation today is not to push yourself past moderate-intensity, measured by your rate of perceived exertion (12-13 out of 20). That’s how I think you should measure your best right now during this crazy season - your rate of perceived exertion.
Are you trying your best
Some days, your best might look like a workout, meal prepping, & an awesome quiet time.
Some days, your best might be eating an apple in between some not-so-healthy meals and just trying your best to get through the day.
Don’t expect yourself to be able to do everything you could do a month ago. Circumstances have changed and it’s affecting everyone differently. No need to keep up with the Joneses.
Just do what you can do and let that be good enough. 🚶♀️ A short walk. 🥒A serving of vegetables with dinner. 📖 10 minutes of journaling a morning prayer.
Whatever that looks like for you.
