You might have to be a butterfly lover to get my absolute thrill today to encounter my first White peacock butterfly caterpillar munching on my Water hyssop. I’ve seen a total of two White peacock butterflies in the six years we’ve lived here. This is my first caterpillar and I’m thrilled. Here’s to a good life! #butterfly #butterflies #butterflygarden #nativeplants #urbangarden #whitepeacock
Farmer Mary’s all white male peacock has molted his long tail feathers and he can fly much more easily now. This evening he and the other peacocks were hanging out by the entrance of Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo in Wake Forest NC.
The peacocks will eat out of your hands. Bring along romaine lettuce or kale, plain Cheerios, whole corn, dry oatmeal and grapes to feed the peacocks next time you schedule a farm visit to Winterpast Farm.
Thank you for supporting a small local farm family animal rescue.
Farmer Mary hopes and prays that her peacocks and all of the other former pets, other special needs animals and elderly animals now living at Winterpast Farm will be able to live out their natural lifespan at Winterpast Farm.
Did you know that Winterpast Farm Petting Zoo may be sold for development! If YOU love ❤️Winterpast Farm please check out our GoFundMe and donate if you can and, most importantly, please SHARE with all your friends who love ❤️ animals!
Thank YOU for sharing to help spread the word about our little zoo which many animals including beautiful friendly peacocks all call home. #savewinterpastfarm

This ethereal looking one is a single white peacock, brought in from Sri Lanka.
White peacocks are not albino, they are genetically mutated from the blue peafowls to not have any color on their feathers.
Although the Indian blue peacocks are a symbol of royalty, flair and sometimes vanity...
The white peacock is seen as representing higher awareness, self-care and humility, free from ego.
They say it is a symbol of purity and unconditional love! 💟

This beautiful peacock was at Leeds castle when we visited a few weeks ago. She loved showing off Infront of the guests drinking their coffee, turning round in circles shimmying her feathers. I've decided I'd rather like a white peacock hanging around in my garden, I hear they are rather noisy though!
