This feral pigeon was found unable to fly with a seemingly deformed wing. Sadly, an X-ray confirmed a break to the right ulna and the only option was corrective orthopaedic surgery.
Using a series of carefully placed pins, Maru realigned the bone fragments before securing everything in place with an external fixator. It is still early days, but we are hopeful for a full recovery in a few weeks’ time!

Can someone please, wipe Cooper's feet before he runs inside...! .
Dogs are truly precious beings! We definitely don't deserve them. Animals are in so many ways much better than we are.🐾🌱🌍

The new Vale cheerleading squad needs a bit more practice! 😄
Our young collared doves have moved to an outside aviary for flight practice and adjustment to the outdoors as they finish growing 😊

White-winged Crossbill! Amazing birds! Thank you to the kind lady who drove him out after he struck her window. This amazing species literally has a crossed bill that allows them to pry open pine cones and extract the seeds within🤯
I love bats!
Reposted from @wingspawsnclaws - Yesterday was heartbreaking. I was called out to a property with reports there were five flying foxes caught on barbed wire. When I got there, there were actually seven, but two had passed away. Four were all along the same stretch of wire (shown with red circles) and then the little girl in the video was caught on their driveway fencing. The winds were intense and they had just twisted the batties around so much. The injuries were absolutely horrific as flying foxes will try anything to free themselves, and I had nightmares all night. I managed to get them all off and took them to the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital. Two lucky batties could be saved, but the other injuries were too severe.
Please, if you use barbed wire, make sure the top line is flat wire to avoid the deaths of these beautiful animals. And if you do find a bat caught on barbed wire, please drape a towel (damp if it's a hot day, like in the last image) over the bat before calling a rescue group. This will prevent them from twisting around even more, and prevent them from biting the barbs. It really can save their life.
The batty in the video survived, as did the one wrapped in the green towel ❤️ Rest in peace other sweet babies. *bats are not pets* - I am a licensed and vaccinated wildlife rescuer and rehabilitator. If you see a sick or injured bat, do not touch it. Call your nearest wildlife rescue group. No touch, no risk.

#eddiethetalkingrook recieved more gifts today! This time it was fabric scraps from @handmadebyherbiesmum (thank you!) he especially liked the business card, which went straight in the #nest, then he picked out a rainbow piece to use first. 🌈
We had alittle break from the rain so I was able to get a quick video. Here are Miss Margie, Jesi and Bobo. I just put Jesi back in the pen, I had left him out for a few days with James but all he wanted was to be back in the pen. James is doing good and out with the other fawn. Bobo was not use to other deer but getting along good with these two. Miss Margie never developed capture myopathy but she was not care for properly before and looks very scrappy but still very cute. I am hoping she gains some weight and starts looking healthier.❤️
Thank you for donations made for my rescue through PayPal, go fund me, mail and Amazon Wishlist. It gets expensive caring for all these fawn and deer and because of your kindness and generosity I am able thank do what I do. Thank you again!
Our FEATHER FRIDAY belongs to…
TAIGA our female Great Grey Owl!
Who guessed correctly! Did you know, Great Greys have the largest facial disk of the owl family, enabling them to pinpoint prey even under deep layers of snow. The round face acts like a giant outer ear, amplifying tiny sounds made by prey. If you look closely you can see the tiny specialised feathers around the outside of the face that help channel sound to the ears.
We rescued a beautiful Saw scaled Viper who had strayed into someone's house in the village. With the temperature on the rise, reptiles come out of hibernation and search for food actively. This sometimes leads to conflict between reptiles and humans. We actively mitigate this issue by creating awareness and conducting safe removal of snakes who have strayed into houses and releasing them back into the wild. Please donate in cash or kind to support the work we do! #crowindia #wildliferescue #reptilerescue #snakerescue #sawscaledviper #vipers #conflictmitigation #rajkot #gujarat #india #charity #donate
If you’ve been following our stories and the little wombat we have been trying to track down, here she is! Investigating our camera as they are curious little things. After almost 2 weeks of looking after her mum was killed by a car & she was spotted & reported to us, we didn’t know if we’d find her. We now have multiple days of footage of her and know her path and times she comes out. It seems she only comes out during the day to avoid coming in contact with the bigger wombats in the area that we have also caught on cam, as they will attack her without the protection of her mum. Our next step is to try and catch her and assess as we have noticed some bite marks from other wombats in some of the videos. But she is lucky she is a larger Joey and her mum showed her some wombaty survival skills so her body condition is not too bad for the time she’s been on her own. To be continued...... 🐻🤞🏼
