I remember holding hands was something that never happened often for me as a kid. More recently I’ve done it almost too freely. If this nonverbal form of communication didn’t happen often enough I would feel insecure, inadequate and worst of all disconnected. If it happened too much I would feel annoyed and bored, like if it was a routine and I was obliged to do so. However there were those rare occasions where I would experience the fullness of myself and the fullness of the other person in the moment and it would just be wonderful, like pure bliss. Now when holding hands whether it’s with a friend, my children or my grandmother I am able to embrace the feeling of Wonder for the present moment rather than wondering about the world around me and this allows me to WonderFULLY experience the wonderfulness of something so simple as holding hands.
How present are you, are you REALLY present when your holding someone’s hand
