Im really trying not to work on multiple projects at once, but here I am again. I have been commissioned to build another Lake Superior shadow box with some customizations. I’ve got some red birch that was salvaged from the bottom of Lake Superior, some plaid flannel, and an un-colored Lake Superior steel plate. Gonna be an interesting project.
I don’t do #tbt much, but since I got a pretty big growth in followers past couple of weeks, I wanted to share this dresser/baby changing table I made a couple of months ago. Whenever my baby cries, we just put him on here and he’ll start laughing. It’s magic! If you haven’t seen the full build video yet, I’ve put a link in the bio. Hope you enjoy it and feel inspired to make something today 😃
Lining up cuts on my favorite saw 😄 I’ve been cutting wood in batches today, mostly so I can take breaks every 20ish minutes to thaw out my freezing fingers. 🥶 I’m working on a few little last minute additions for the shop before Christmas. More info soon!
Christmas came early to the Accidental Workshop. Froome scored a beef bone and I got DF500 Domino that I’m putting to use cutting the joints for the Christmas benches. # #woodshoplife #midcenturymodern
Sometimes the light hits a project just right. This figured cherry top looked amazing during finishing. I have found that figured woods really seem to pop when you shine the light at a lower angle. I had moved the lamp to look for runs in the finish and it seemed like the grain almost exploded on this lid.
Phase 2 - Pneumatic Air Cart! ✅
It is missing the hose reel... waiting for that to come in the mail... but for now it is complete and on to Phase 3.... The Assembly Table! This one is gonna have lots of features... clamp storage, drawers, sliding doors, Milwaukee organizer shelves, clamp tracks.... oh and it will also be at the same height as my table saw and current outfeed table.... so my options for builds will just get bigger!!! 😆 What is your favorite feature on an assembly table 🤔🍊 #buildingawesome #awesomeshopoverhaul
Testing out all of the stains that you will get to choose from when you purchase a wooden kreation!😍💕

A good #jig and an accurate #crosscutsled made easy work of the kerf cuts on the #walnut table number holders. I’m starting to really love the patterns these make when laid flat together. Maybe a #tessellated cutting board is in the future...
Broke out the new Trent Bosch hollowing tools for this little vessel. Working with some hackberry wood. For being such a disliked tree, the wood is quite popular -- people really seem to gravitate toward it. I like working with hackberry, so I guess you'd call that a win-win. 😉
This week’s #tooltuesday goes to this awesome circle cutting jig from @rockler_woodworking . I used it to cut out the rings for the Harry Potter display case I made. This was my first time using it. I was surprised that it’s made from some type of high density plastic instead of MDF. Definitely a high quality product!
I've been asked several times where I bought my router table and whether I like it. I did not purchase my router table and I love it! I built my router table over 3 years ago and you can find my build series on YouTube. It features a torsion box top to resist sag, 10 full extension drawers, and integrated dust collection piped for the table saw and router. The router lift insert plate was bought as an open box item (Incra Rout-R-Lift II) on Amazon and the fence is a 14 year old Incra Ultra bought used on Craigslist.
