🤷 Dennoch ... Ich bin stolz. 🖤

"How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?" — Romans 10:14

This is the reality of the gospel, God has designed it to rely on certain variables in order to be propagated effectively— through His Church. Talk about the loving heart, the beautiful feet, and of course, the gentle, yet awakening voice of the ones that are sent by God. Yes, only the sent of God, "And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" So am I saying, the preaching of the gospel is specifically for a remnant of "sent" Christians? No! Actually, the sent in this context of the Bible represents every single believer who have been regenerated by the Spirit of God through the power of the gospel of Jesus, the ones called out of darkness into God's marvelous light. 1 Pet 2:9.

God has vested us with such a great responsibility as proclaiming the gospel to the world— to go and make disciples of all nations, see Matt 28:19, let us therefore be faithful to this calling knowing that the world will never call on whom they have not believed in, and they will never believe in whom they have not heard of, and of course, they will never hear if you and I do not come out of our comfort zone to consistently proclaim the wonderful gospel of Jesus, Romans 10:14.

Kahlil Gibran, one of the greatest poets of all the times, was a Lebanese-American writer, poet, painter, philosopher and visual artist. He is widely known for his work ' The Prophet '.
Kahlil Gibran brought about a spiritual revolution by building the bridges of understanding of religions under one roof by The Prophet. His ideologies are still respected and quoted on various occasions by great leaders.Gibran had a strong connection with Baha'i Faith, which inspired him to write The Prophet. The book has been translated into more than 50 languages and has never ceased to publish.Gibran's connection with Abdu'l-Bahá , the then leader of Baha'i Faith, was the man behind many verses of The Prophet. His teachings are reflected on many occasions in Kahlil's writings.
It is said that many people started leaving their religion and adopted The Prophet as their Bible, though it was criticised by the English.
Undoubtedly, we can learn a lot from his philosophical views on society and life through the book.
Some of the most beautiful quotes by him are: 'People of Orphalese, of what can I speak save of that which is even now moving within your souls?' 'You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief, But rather when these things girdle your life and yet you rise above them naked and unbound.' 'Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgment wage war against your passion and your appetite.' BY- @time_._less

Day 17. ⁣
⁣
RE-WRITING (Part 1)⁣
⁣
I attended and helped out with a personal development talk today. ⁣
⁣
There was something the presenter said that made me realise how easy it is for the things we usually say to “other” and make people feel excluded. ⁣
⁣
Feel like their thoughts and feelings are unacceptable. Abnormal. Odd. Weird. ⁣
⁣
And it doesn’t even have to be something evil or cruel or bad. ⁣
⁣
It’s the smallest of things. ⁣
⁣
I imagine being a young queer brown boy in that space. Someone who is probably already feeling like a minority of a minority. Already struggling with these feelings and how he is navigating the world. ⁣
⁣
And then the presenter says something like “If you are hoping to attract someone of the opposite sex…”⁣
⁣
And just like that I would be reminded how heteronormative the world is. How my sexuality isn’t usually accounted for. How me being gay immediately excludes and differentiates me from everyone in the space. ⁣
⁣
How lonely that feeling is. ⁣
⁣
But now imagine if the presenter instead said “If you are hoping to attract a boyfriend or girlfriend…”⁣
⁣
Not perfect. But it definitely opens up the possibilities. It does however still remain within the traditional binaries of gender. ⁣
⁣
Now let’s take it one step further. ⁣
⁣
Imagine if the presenter said “If you are hoping to attract a partner…”⁣
⁣
And just like THAT everyone in the space who wants to be in a relationship will automatically be included irregardless of their gender or sexuality. ⁣
⁣
Immediately included and made to feel like everyone else. Welcomed.⁣
⁣
It’s the smallest of things but they make all the difference. ⁣
⁣
And if I was a brown queer boy in that space, I would have felt seen in the most simplest of ways. ⁣
⁣
This is why our stories are important. Because we need to re-write the way things have always been done. ⁣
⁣
Because sometimes people forget we are right here. Right here in the room with you. Right here in front of you. Right here. ⁣
