Learning a handstand is what kept me practicing yoga; it’s defiance over the powerful force of gravity eluded me.
I’ve always been high energy and always on the go, but for some reason the demand of focus and precision in a handstand intrigued me.👀 In this exercise I use the ball and roll it towards me with my toes.
I must feel my shoulders in the right position before I continue to roll the ball closer.
In the pike, I check that my legs are active again so I don’t backbend over.
Once I feel stacked, then I play! *There are some secret actions going on here.

Sometimes. Sometimes it really isn’t easy but mama knows I’d do anything for these rubber rectangles & so I guess what that really means is I’d do anything for you too.
Some weeks more blood, sweat & fears go into Yogi Bare than Cookie’s chocolate cake in Matilda but man is it worth it. It’s worth it when I absorb & trace every photo, message & letter you write me, sharing your own practices, your own journey, your own story. And that’s when I realise that we are all part of a much bigger tale that’s being told, we are all parts of each other’s story. So thank you, thank you for being part of mine. Thank you for choosing to support a brand with a funny name, run by a girl trying her best to make you feel like home.
And I’ll let you into a secret, we haven’t even got to the good part of the story yet.
On day 9 of #OpenHeartwithALOha I’d like to spend a few words about a topic that in the last hours is outraging and saddening many of us: the Amazon fires 🔥🌴
I’m not going to draw a picture of the whole situation (Internet has plenty of information now that the lack of media coverage of this huge catastrophe has gone viral) but I want to let you know these there’s something that each of us can and should do: .
1. Show your outrage. Post on your stories, keep sharing updates, tag friends, family and influencers. The more voices we have, the louder our call.
2. Educate yourself. The more you know about the crisis that’s happening, the more that can be done.
3. Think about the things you eat. Food production is the leading cause of deforestation, as land is being cleared to rear livestock, and to grow feed for livestock. Less demand means less deforestation.
4. Sign every petition you can find (@wwf_uk and @greenpeace are just some of them) calling on world leaders to put this issue at the top of their agenda. 🔥
5. Donate to reliable fundraisers such as the above .
