I talked about fashion-related matters based on my experience, from how my creative sessions with Marc Jacobs @themarcjacobs for Louis Vuitton worked, to Kanye West’s first visit to my studio and my recent collaborations Virgil Abloh @virgilabloh . My first eye-opening exposure to street fashion happened when I attended the first ComplexCon @complexcon in 2016 as the art director at the invitation of Marc Ecko @beingmarcecko , the founder of Complex Media @complex . At the event, I realized that I had an audience within street fashion who regarded me through something other than the language (or context) of art, and learned that they were referred to as “sneakerheads.” The world then completely unknown to me stretched out before me; it was so fresh and made me truly happy. That there were more than ten thousand such people visiting ComplexCon and that they warmly welcomed me subsequently caused a great shift within me. So I spoke at length about how the experience made me want to create works that are specifically catered for my sneakerhead audience. I wish the article will be translated into English someday.
