Photo by @kamilekave for #AdobeRisingStars || Hey all, it’s Kamile again! You may remember me from my #Lr_Taste feature back in May. 🤓
All my life, I wanted to be a businesswoman at a big corporation. After years of studying and finally getting that dream job, it only took me one year to realize that this life made me miserable. It was just not me. So, I flipped my life upside down and became a food photographer. Every day, I spend my mornings learning about photography and the rest of the day practicing or trying to meet other photographers.
•
I LOVE food. But, have you noticed that we often don’t really look at our food? At least not in detail? Last month I was on holiday for a week and I ordered a delicious pasta vongole (vongole are these little seashells). There was just something about them that made the dish look so beautiful. So, when I got back home, I decided to experiment. I bought vongole, made a decent looking pasta, and grabbed my camera…
•
I used a tether wire to connect the camera instantly to my laptop. And on my laptop screen, I saw that these seashells are little works of art. This opened a new dimension of food for me. A sort of gratitude for the beauty and nutrition of these little natural ingredients. 😌

Photo by @filippomasoni for #AdobeRisingStars || When you’re close to the polar circle and approaching summertime, the sun doesn't set straight below the horizon. It looks like it wants to hang out a bit more, it moves sideways while going down. Which means sunsets last for hours! During my visit to this magnificent sea stack, I got a perfect display of this phenomenon. The sun was lighting up the clouds from underneath and those colors lasted forever. Never-ending beauty!

Photo by @filippomasoni for #AdobeRisingStars || Photographing the night sky is one of my favorite things. The milky way, during the summer, is out all night, so there’s no rush to take the shot like during a sunrise or sunset. I can take my time, relax and enjoy the show while thinking about what I’m really looking at. That light probably traveled for millions of years before reaching my eyes or my camera sensor, and so it’s like looking at a moment in time that’s already passed, we see what our universe looked like back then and there’s no way we can see what it looks like now, until that light reaches us. That’s so fascinating to me and being able to capture it like this is very rewarding, I just needed to go out in the middle of a field in a dark area here in Tuscany and find a pretty foreground to complement the magnificent Milky Way.

Photo by @filippomasoni for #AdobeRisingStars || Road trips are my favorite way to travel. Not only because you can see the entire landscape while driving but most importantly because you can stop whenever you want. When we were driving that day in Iceland we just planned for our destination and the shoot at sunset, but after seeing this amazing view in front of us we had to stop. It didn’t matter that it was mid-day and the light was a bit harsh because the view was epic. I wandered around that black sand that stretched for miles until the glaciers, but the best shot was actually from the middle of the road. To me, this is what tells the story of a trip around the ring road of Iceland: epic mountains, black sand for days and the empty road ahead of you.

Photo by @filippomasoni for #AdobeRisingStars || Search online for the best viewing locations, chose one, drive four hours to the top of the fjord crossing a mountain on a dirt road during a storm, ask locals for the best times to spot them, wait impatiently for two hours in a cold, windy and rainy environment and then get the shot. This is what it takes to see Puffins in Iceland! At least that was my experience. I can say it was 100% worth it to meet the best-looking birds on the planet.

Photo by @filippomasoni for #AdobeRisingStars || I’m excited to bring you all with me to my favorite places around the world during my Rising Stars take over! We’ll start with my home: Tuscany.
•
This is Val d’Orcia, one of the most famous locations in Tuscany, at least for landscape photographers. On this viewpoint every morning of the year at sunrise, you’ll find a group of people taking photographs. I don’t blame them because it’s such a beautiful view that is made to be captured. The whole valley was in fact redrawn and developed by Siena to create an aesthetically pleasing picture in the 14th and 15th centuries, and it’s now a UNESCO site.

Hey everyone, @benjamin_warde here, welcome back to #LightroomLessons. Lightroom allows you to make Selective adjustments - edits that affect only part of the photo, instead of the whole photo. You can make Selective adjustments using a Brush, a Radial Gradient, or a Linear Gradient. In a past #LightroomLessons post, I talked about using the Radial Gradient to create an off-center vignette. In this post, I’ll show you how to use the Radial Gradient to highlight a light source within your photo. Swipe through to see the mini-tutorial, and click the link in bio to download Lightroom on mobile!⠀
•⠀
Step 1:⠀
Here’s what the photo looked like without the Radial Gradient. I like the intense blues of the sky and water, but I want to bring out the warmth and light of the sun peeking out from behind the bridge. First, make sure you’re in “Edit” mode.⠀
• ⠀
Step 2:⠀
Then tap on “Selective”.⠀
•⠀⠀
Step 3:⠀
Tap on the plus “+” to create a new Selective adjustment.⠀
•⠀
Step 4:⠀
You can choose from a Brush, a Radial Gradient, or a Linear Gradient. In this case, we want the Radial Gradient.⠀
•⠀
Step 5:⠀
Tap on the center of the sun and drag out to make a circle. The red tint indicates the area that will be affected by the edit.⠀
•⠀
Step 6:⠀
You can control how hard or soft the edge of the circle is. In this case, we want it very soft, so tap on the “Feather” control and drag it up to 100.⠀
•⠀
Step 7:⠀
Then select the edits that you want to apply to the circle area. You can apply all sorts of edits, but in this case, we want to make it warm and yellow like the sun, so tap on “Color”.⠀
•⠀
Step 8:⠀
Then drag the Temp slider in the yellow direction to really warm up the area of the sun.⠀
•⠀
Step 9:⠀
When you’re done, tap the checkmark. ⠀

Photo by @guenfiore for #AdobeRisingStars || One more portrait of Deborah. Apart from reportage or social photography, when the subject
of a portrait is a young woman, people tend to judge only on an aesthetic basis. Through their gestures and gazes, people reveal their personality, sensuality, vulnerability and strength. I like to think that I can bring back a hint of honesty and humanity in my work, proposing a variety of young women portrayed with simplicity. I hope the viewers might start to really see them and not just look.

Thank you so much, @lightroom, for having me! Has been an absolute pleasure.

When you are around her, it strikes you immediately what a skilled athlete she is, but even more powerfully transpires a passionate and strong-willed woman. Something about her is puzzling: such strength and power, and yet profound vulnerability and femininity. I just find her so beautiful.

Photo by @guenfiore for #AdobeRisingStars || She is Deborah, one of the most talented models I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I met her early last year on another set, and since then we’ve stayed connected. I felt very honored when she invited me to go to her home in Thiene, and proposed to shoot some pictures together. She asked me to take honest photos of her, showing her natural beauty without hiding anything. She decided to wear very light makeup, and I didn’t do any skin retouching at all.

Photo by @guenfiore for #AdobeRisingStars || This is a picture from my personal project, “Summer of Love”. There is something special about photographing LOVE. Doesn’t matter if it’s a newborn feeling or a mature one, there is always beauty in documenting such a genuine connection between two human beings.
•
Beatrice and Alberto celebrated their very first anniversary together last year. I spent an amazing afternoon with them and Karolina, the stylist, in a beautiful apartment in Via Magrutta (Rome). They were literally kissed by the sun on a warm July afternoon, surrounded by paintings and sculptures. They perfectly embodied young love.
