For some clients it's zooming out of the house with a breakfast bar and protein shake and for others its little hands picking scrambled eggs out of a spill proof bowl. Part of the excitement in what we do is crafting a beautiful solution for the various ways our clients live their lives. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This close knit family of four with tweens, wanted a zone in their kitchen to gather for breakfast and dinner alike and our newly placed light fixture, custom banquette and table helped them achieve that.If you missed our stories yesterday, we were installing phase one of our clients' new build farmhouse. Install days never come without their hiccups regardless of how much planning you do but this one was pretty painless- phew!This was the first time we worked in this architectural style and it really teaches you how to use restraint in your design as so much of the intrigue is in the sparcity of it all. Open concepts and glass walls are great in theory but come on architects and developers...put a little thought into how people live today! Well, our client’s first call was to our AV company because they couldn’t figure out where to put that tv and thankfully our AV team looped us in to help solve this debacle. A hidden roll down projection screen to the rescue plus a bunch of other really tech-y home automated jazz (favorite crowd pleaser: hidden ceiling speakers 🔊 🔊)Also, got our start transforming the New York City white box apartment and happy to flex those cookie cutter transformation muscles after a few years in the burbs. #tgtransformations #greenpointbrooklyn #nycapartments @digitalhome_That moment when you finally have a client that has 100’s of books to fill the custom bookshelves you designed for their new library but now you have to climb the two story ladder a few hundred times to fill said shelves. All worth it in the end...he is beyond thrilled after wanting this room transformed for over 20 years 🙌🏼Rose Quartz and Serenity. Who else remembers when @pantone declared the two Color of the Year? We had already designed this project which uses those two shades and it started a conversation of color trends. Were we ahead of the trend? Were we somehow influenced by what we were seeing around us in the design industry already? Or were we just trying to create a calming retreat for our clients and the color of the year was a happy coincidence? There’s really no way to know but what we do know is that color stories come and go and so often we say we’ll never use a certain color (say, red), but then years later we’ll be dying to do a red room. Who knows what we’re influenced by but we’ve learned to never say never. Now, who has a red room for us to work on? 💃🏻🌹🥊❤️ #thtransformationsHappy International Women’s Day. I took fellow Latina, @byerikabatista 's advice on a recent post she did and it was along the lines of "make time for life"...and for me that meant allowing myself the freedom to stroll, not essentially sprint like I normally do through the weekend...to sort of give myself the permission to just be, for a day. And so I did...it wasn't easy...I found myself making a list (I ❤ lists!) of all of the things I was going to do with the few free hours I was giving myself...rookie mistake 🙈 which basically had me stressing out being relaxed #sosillyofme Overall, I felt better going into the work week and it's back to business.
