Yesterdayâs view! From here itâs quiet and boundless. Seems the more we extract ourselves from the nucleusâs of our daily reality sitcom episode, the more nourished the DNA becomes and the more rich the script is. Its quite simple from here...she whispers...âJUST BREATHEâ
Yidaki đĽđĽđĽ This instrument has brought so much magic into my life. My introduction to it was about 20 yrs ago when I worked as a youth mentor for a hoods in the woods program. For those not familiar, itâs a wilderness program for âtroubled youthâ. I always thought that was a ridiculous phrase. I saw myself as having more problems than half the children I worked with! Thatâs when it all clicked. My job was to listen and not pretend based on my position, to have the answers, but be a conduit for solution and allow them to reconstruct their identity away from that word âtroubledâ. One of the kids that I âmentoredâ, showed up to camp with a didgeridoo on his back and after a few weeks together he began to open up to me, mostly I think because of our mutual love for music. My way of working with the kids was to listen because they had deep wounds and all to often had been told. I used my music passively as a tool to create trust with them. It was a way for them to see me for who I was and not a threat, and from there the bond would begin and the healing was possible. One evening I built a fire and sat with them as I plucked the guitar and this unnamed kid began to play the didgeridoo with me and in that moment I could hear the voices of the ancients clearer than ever before. It was a magical blend and one that hasnât left me since. Im eternally grateful for my music and the many ways Iâve been able to communicate with it and for the many blessings it has brought to me in return. You never know what this journey of life has in store!!
