Checking in from my every-6-month skin check at my dermatologist with a gentle reminder to have your skin checked 💛. Eleven, almost twelve, years ago when I was pregnant with Anna I was diagnosed with Stage 1 melanoma. It was caught super early because I’d already been going regularly and had many moles removed + biopsied prior to finding that one (I’ve had more than 50 removed total - I have something called Dysplastic Nevus Syndrome - basically most of my moles are atypical). My doctors tend to think that for me it’s less about sun damage and more about genetics, but I still wear sunscreen daily. All this to say, make an appointment and get yourself checked out if you have any suspicious looking moles (uneven borders, larger than the size of a pencil eraser, non symmetrical shape, strange color). You matter ❤️.
