Available today: The @sfsymphony's latest release of Henry Brant's 'Ice Field,' featuring @cameronorganist. This piece is so special to the SFS, as it was composed specifically for the acoustics, and organ, of Davies Hall. In this piece, the way that different groups can play different tempi and meters, in different locations in the hall, is unbelievably well-thought out.
In the hall, you are able to experience this music in a way that normally you cannot in a recording. That's why it's so exciting to work with @dolby to create a new technology in which spatial effects can be experienced. Henry would've been delighted by this: it's a project that we think audiophiles and music lovers will love, as it provides a chance to experience the spontaneity, and emotionally-affecting qualities that the piece has. 10 years ago today the @YouTube Symphony Orchestra performed at @CarnegieHall as the first-ever collaborative online orchestra 🎶💻🎶
Great US tour with the @sfsymphony, but nothing better than being home when the California Poppy is in bloom!
Thank you DC, Boston, Chicago, Urbana, and Lincoln for having the @sfsymphony! We had a free day in Boston to enjoy chowder and share doughnuts with the SFS & BSO softball teams. Our last tour stop tonight in Ames. #SFSTour
Bravo to the @sfsymphony on a wonderful concert together in Symphony Hall in Boston. This October it will be 50 years since my debut with the @bostonsymphony on this stage!
