It does this by storing carbon in the tree and soil while releasing oxygen into the atmosphere; creating a cooling effect. The leaves also absorb light from the sun; heating earths surface and drawing water from the soil which evaporates into our atmosphere and creates low clouds that reflect the sun’s hot rays.
