Thai Yoga Massage is one of the best therapeutic massage/bodywork treatment available for chronic pain and sports injuries. It is an outstanding way to help promote total relaxation and stress reduction. Together, these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically. Thai Yoga massage increases flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, enhances the body’s natural energy flow, and promotes inner peace with a quiet mind.

Initially affecting the physical body, it can then gradually reach the more subtle life forces - the emotions, thoughts, and senses. It is common for recipients to go into a Yoga Nidra state where time and space disappear and the healing takes place on a deeper level.

HEALING CRISIS

Toxins accumulate in tissue throughout the body, especially in fat tissue. When you cleanse your body, the toxins dislodge. When the cells release toxins into circulation but the elimination organs (skin, lungs, liver, kidneys, bladder & GI tract) are not able to eliminate them quickly enough, the toxins remain in circulation and can effect the brain stem region.

The typical symptoms of a healing crisis include not only a fever but also chills and sweating. There can be nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Headaches and body aches are common. It is not uncommon for the patient to experience rashes or other types of discharge through the skin and urinary tract.

A beautiful diagram and explanation repost from @marisierra_

This millenary indian medical system literally means "The Study of Life' (from sanskrit 'ayur': lfe' / 'veda': study, science). Its Elemental Theory, uses the 5 elements (earth, water, fire, wind, ether) and combines them into doshas, mind-body types that express particular patterns of behavior.

Ayurveda helps us understand our health as a system of interconnected relationships between mind-body types, ingredients, seasons and habits. I hope this diagram can help you visualize these relationships. Use it as a map to understand yourself better. Be intentional about how you invest your energy throughout your day. Open your senses to recognize the five elements in your mind and body, your personality, your emotions and your work.

Vata dosha is formed when prana mixes with the elements air and space. Vata governs all movement. The qualities of Vata are light, dry, airy, quick, and cold. Vata people are generally tall or little. They are naturally thin. They can have asymmetrical features. When Vata people are in balance, they are creative and easily adaptable. They have a great way with words. When Vata people are out of balance, this leads to fear and anxiety.

Pitta, heat, is made up of the elements fire and water. Pitta governs digestion, nutrition, metabolism and body temperature. The qualities of Pitta are hot, sour, pungent, sharp and acidic. Pitta people have strong digestion. Their build is athletic. When Pittas are in balance, they are intelligent, cerebral and sharp. When out of balance, they are hot and easily angered. Pittas tend toward rashes.

Kapha is the flesh body or the mucus body and is made up of the elements earth and water. Kapha is our bones, muscles, teeth and everything dense in our bodies. The qualities of Kapha are slow, steady, heavy, oily, and cold. When Kapha people are in balance, kapha people are loving, nurturing and grounded. When out of balance, they are needy, melancholy and heavy in body and mind.

#Fasting, including #intermittentfasting, is very rarely recommended in #ayurveda. It reduces your digestive fire ( #agni) and increases #vata.

Excess vata can leave us susceptible to feeling more fearful, scattered, or worried than usual. Physically, pain is the most obvious indication of excess vata; other common signs are variable appetite, insomnia, dry skin, constipation, flatulence, and irregular menstruation.
