Everyone tells you to lose weight because you will be a happier person, you will enjoy life so much more and you will have endless opportunities. Those are all true, but, its so much more complicated.
18 and 126kgs, my friends saw me as the happiest person . I was a size 24 pants and 18 top and despite being this size, I had the confidence of a model. I had gotten to a point that I didn't give a shit what people thought. I ate burgers without even wondering what people around me thought. I had been call fatty, cow and all sorts or harsh names so many times I had become immune to it. Now, I walk around in life carrying 40kgs less body fat. I should be happy right ?
I wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and scrutinise myself at every angle, pick up my flaws then walk away. I train roughly 5 days a week, weight training and HIIT cardio.
I don't usually eat sauces, I drink long blacks because it's less calories, i miss dinners my family cooks because it's not completely clean. I will google restaurant menus before I decide to eat there because if they can't accommodate my meal, I can't go there. I avoid the movies like no other because I if I can't eat popcorn, I don't wanna go. I usually have to ask the waiter just make me chicken and vegetables at a dinner in which when your sitting at a table full of people you get comments like "one meal won't hurt" and "you still need to live a little". they don't understand the way my body reacts to consuming food that I shouldn't eat.I set my alarm at 6am on a Sunday morning to weight train so I can enjoy some bacon and eggs with a friend for breakfast today. This is my life now, I need to accept that.
I am writing this post to make girls aware of body image! If your happy with your body, then GO YOU! Do what makes you happy. I am not about to quit but that doesn't mean I don't question myself, wish for a different body or metabolism, or daily life. I wish for everyone to be happy and healthy, but it's not always the way it seems after a massive weight loss accomplishment.
