Using @benjaminmoore ultra flat ceiling paint in white. Forgot my GoPro yesterday but today I will get some video of the final coat.
We are back at this job to start the finish coats (we left because the floors were supposed to be refinished while we're gone, and they were not. So now we are finishing ceilings and going one coat on all until the floors get finished...).
I just love clear communication, it's my favorite.

Nice repaint we completed for @ditmasparkrenovations yesterday. If you follow them, this is the job where they recreated the cove around the fireplace and made all the custom doors and cabinets. Super clean and tight job and a dream to prep and paint behind! Walls were painted using @benjaminmoore regal select matte and trim was painted using regal select semi gloss. The colors escape my mind, sorry! Quick little repaint from yesterday.
First two pics are the before, last two pics are the after.
Painted the ceiling, trim and the walls with an accent color. Very minor repairs and some caulking.
Not every job has to be a glorious display of Craftsman ship, you can still achieve a great quality job by simply doing the job correctly and efficiently while using quality paints and materials.
All paint was @sherwinwilliams.
Ceiling promar 200 extra white flat
Trim emerald urethane enamel semi gloss extra white.
Main walls duration matte in BM color AF 680
Accent wall duration matte on BM color 2083-20 cranberry cocktail.
Used 3/8" nap purdy microfiber covers and purdy brushes.
Tried to free hand the cut and was successful against the ceiling and one corner, had to tape everything else off.

Quick little repaint from yesterday. First two pics are the before, last two pics are the after. Painted the ceiling, trim and the walls with an accent color. Very minor repairs and some caulking. This ceiling was scraped, reinforced with plaster washers, bonded, back filled, fully meshed, coated with standard durabond 90, two coats of ez sand durabond 90 (applied in opposite directions to aid smoothing it out) and polished with a coat of bucket mix. Then it was sanded and spray primed.
He learned alot on how to deal with old plaster walls and how each step affects the next. To me it's important to let the guys handle things like this so they have a better understanding of how things work and therefore learn faster and improve their skills faster. Hands on experience is the best and he combined that with everything we have taught him and from what he observed watching us.

Alot of work, but to us this is the only way.
Each and every step is important and can not/should not be skipped if you want a product that not only looks good but will stand the test of time.
Prep is Everything.

Progress photos, stating with before and finishing with primer. Little volunteer project from this Saturday. The SPCA needed the gas pipes painted safety yellow as per ConEd. We made some serious progress on this project this week!
All the walls and ceilings were base coated, first coated and some second coated and all the trim was sanded using @festool RTS400 and the RO 90 with triangle attachment.
We base coated with standard durabond to cover the mesh and first coated with EZ sand 90. The second and final coats will be bucket mix (compound mixed with water and plaster of paris, more on that in another post). These walls/ceilings have come a looong way and are starting to look pretty good. Next week we apply the finish coats, sand and get everything primed before we get kicked off site for kitchen install and floor refinishing.
Oh, and don't worry, I have many, many videos of me skim coating! I'm sure you all can't wait to see them haha!
